What is love to you, Tachy?
Love is just an illusion that we work so hard to find and give. It breaks us over and over again but we never give up. No matter what she has done to us, we love her. No matter how scary she is, we never stop getting closer to her. Maybe she is not the one who is mean after all.
We always say “love does not hurt, it is the person we choose to give our heart to who is evil”.
But to me, love hurts. Love is cruel. Maybe it is abstract but it plays a big role in meanness. If the person hurts, why does love make the heart love them? If the person hates us, why doesn’t love make us hate them too? Why instead of hating, does she push us to love?
To love and not be loved in return. To love while the other hates us, rejects us, humiliates us. I find that love is selfish. She wants but she never gives. To receive to break us and leave us alone. She lets us know that our wounds heal
through time. But this time then takes an eternity to heal and then to fall in love again. We are all stupid because we accept it, despite the fact that we do not forget, despite the fact that we remember our tragedies, the wounds that took time to close, despite our time to heal. Love takes advantage of us. It takes advantage of our weakness, our sensitivity, our sincerity, yet we never stop believing in it. After to make us understand that it helped us, that it made us find hope.
We all give love a chance, two chances, several chances despite so much pain it has caused us, but why do we never give these chances to a person who has broken us?
